Meet at the designated, convenient pick-up point in London just after midday where you will board our luxury private coach bound for the Cotswolds. On arrival at our hotel you will be shown to your beautiful room and can begin to explore your home for the next few days.
We meet again early evening to enjoy a welcome drinks reception before our evening meal and welcome talk, from Sarah Morris.
On our first full day, we visit the enchanting Sudeley Castle, not only a stop for Anne and Henry during their 1535 Progress, but also a place visited by their daughter Elizabeth I and the final resting place of Henry's 6th wife, Katherine Parr.
Nearby are the romantic ruins of Hailes Abbey where we will spend some time exploring before returning to our hotel for a 3-course dinner and a talk from Dr Jonathan Foyle!
In the morning we continue to follow in the footsteps of Henry VIII and Anne by visiting another place where the couple spent time during the 1535 Summer Progress.
In the afternoon we visit Thornbury Castle for afternoon tea. Thornbury was one of the principal country residences of the Duke of Buckingham, who was executed for treason in 1521.
On day 4 we continue our progress and visit the mighty Berkeley Castle, which at the time of Anne and Henry's visit was owned by the Crown.
Our general guided tour of the castle will be followed by Sarah taking us to the part of the castle in which the royal couple lodged. This part of the tour will be our opportunity to see a sequence of public and private rooms that were typical of a high-status building - and which once lodged the king and queen.
After breakfast we check out of the Greenway Hotel, embark on our luxury coach and head for our very special final location, Hever Castle.
Settle into your beautiful room before our final evening which includes a talk from the amazing historian Tracy Borman and a lovely three-course meal
After a relaxed breakfast in the Tudor Suite, we check out and take our private coach back to the convenient drop-off point in London for our final farewells.
